Job Description - Statutory, Tax and Controls Accountant

Statutory, Tax and Controls Accountant – 3-Month FTC
Up to £65,000 | Hybrid (3 days in office) | Newport / Gatwick

Hoop Professional Services and HR are working with an award-winning, global organisation undergoing a period of change. They are seeking a Statutory, Tax and Controls Accountant to join their growing finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract, starting 4th August 2025.

Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for:

Preparing and submitting statutory accounts in line with relevant standards
Managing corporate and indirect tax compliance
Maintaining and improving the internal financial control framework
Supporting audit readiness and managing audit processes
Contributing to period-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
Liaising with cross-functional teams on technical and regulatory matters

What We’re Looking For

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
Experience in statutory reporting and tax compliance in a group or multi-entity environment
Audit or tax background, now working in industry
Strong knowledge of financial controls, risk management, and IFRS
Skilled in Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

Additional Information

Hybrid working (3 days per week in office)
Office base flexible: Newport or Gatwick
Occasional travel may be required; valid passport and driving licence preferred
