Stock Control

Reed Birmingham are partnered with a friendly and stable client of ours who are looking for a reliable Stock Controller who holds a clean driving license to support with deliveries and stock checks at local customer sites.

This role plays a vital role in the field operations team. You’ll be responsible for completing predefined delivery routes, including both VMI stock deliveries and spot orders, while using our bespoke WMS iOS app to capture data, manage stocktakes, and scan Proof of Deliveries (PODs) at customer sites.

You play a key part in ensuring stock accuracy, keeping customer sites presentable, and representing the company with professionalism and courtesy at all times.

£12.90 per hour

Temp-to-perm opportunity

7am-4pm Mon-Thursday / 1:30pm finish on a Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Complete daily delivery runs, including predefined routes for VMI cabinets and ad-hoc spot orders as needed
• Perform stocktakes using the iOS app at customer locations
• Capture before and after images of all VMI cabinets as part of each stocktake using the provided software
• Update bin locations and What3Words (W3W) geotags via the app
• Accurately record and scan Proof of Delivery (POD) for all deliveries using the app
• Monitor and log delivered direct items during the stocktake process
• Carry out regular housekeeping of VMI cabinets, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and customer-ready (supported by and in tandem with the Distribution Manager)
• Perform accurate stocktakes and understand the physical and financial impact of errors
• Conduct daily vehicle checks at the start and end of the shift, submitting supporting photos / videos to the Distribution Manager
• Work flexibly across a shared delivery and stocktake rota — supporting colleagues by knowing and covering each other’s runs where needed (e.g. holiday or sickness cover)
• Represent the business with a professional, courteous attitude, delivering excellent service to customers
• Liaise with Account Managers, Customer Service, and other internal teams to ensure seamless communication and follow-up

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of stock and delivery work.
• Confident using iOS apps and mobile devices for scanning, stocktaking and associated tasks
• Physically capable of lifting and handling small to medium-sized stock items safely
• A flexible, team-focused mindset, happy to support other routes and cover colleagues when needed
• Excellent timekeeping and a self-motivated approach to daily operations
• Friendly, courteous, and professional with customers and colleagues alike

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Previous experience in stock control, warehousing, or multi-drop delivery roles
• Basic familiarity with logistics systems or field-based inventory apps
