Stores Outsourcing Project Lead

• Location: Barnsley (2 days onsite, 1 day remote)
• Contract: Initial 3-month contract, potential for extension
• Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week. This role can be 4-5 days a week if preferable, but will then involve taking on further projects.
• Salary: £24-£26 per hour PAYE. Umbrella payment route available

Join our transformative project within the property repairs and maintenance division. We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead a major outsourcing initiative, transitioning our materials procurement and stores operation to a national supplier. This role is crucial in managing the change programme that affects a significant portion of our housing stock.

• Lead the delivery and coordination of a high-impact outsourcing project within the repairs and maintenance function.
• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure a smooth transition and effective implementation.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance and continuity of service.
• Build and maintain strong relationships across departments and with external partners.
• Ensure high standards of organisation and communication, maintaining attention to detail.
• Provide consistent follow-through to ensure tasks are completed and outcomes are achieved.

• Proven track record in project delivery, ideally within housing, repairs, or operational outsourcing.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, capable of managing complex stakeholder environments.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management.
• Persistent and outcome-focused, able to maintain momentum across multiple workstreams.
• Comfortable working part-time with flexibility to transition to full-time for additional projects as needed.
