Strategic Finance Business Partner - Children's

We are currently partnering with a local authority who is seeking an Interim Strategic Finance Business Partner to lead on financial strategy and planning across Children’s Services. This is a pivotal role where you will provide strategic insight and challenge to senior stakeholders during a critical period of transformation and budgetary pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial strategy for Children’s Services
• Drive robust financial planning, forecasting, and budget management, ensuring alignment with statutory responsibilities and corporate objectives.
• Lead a team of finance professionals, ensuring high performance, strong business partnering, and effective service support.
• Represent finance at senior leadership forums, committees, and partnership boards as required.
• Ensure compliance with all financial governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

About You:

• Qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a senior finance business partner or strategic finance lead within a local authority, preferably with direct involvement in Children’s Services.
• Strong understanding of local government finance and the challenges facing children’s social care.
