Reed Public Sector is looking for a dynamic HR & OD Lead to join the team of a Local authority and play a pivotal role in aligning people strategies with organisational goals. As a trusted partner to senior leadership, you’ll lead on strategic initiatives that shape the future of our workforce and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.

Location: Berkshire

Contract Length: 6 Months with a possibility of getting extended

Hybrid Working: 2 days in the office

• Acting as the HR&OD lead for a defined client area, partnering with senior leaders to deliver impactful people strategies.
• Leading organisational design and development, talent management, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Identifying future skills and workforce needs to ensure long-term success.
• Supporting managers to align structures and roles with evolving service demands.
• Using HR data and insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement.
• Building strong relationships and delivering innovative, customer-focused HR solutions.

• Significant HR&OD experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record in leading change and managing projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex issues and drive effective action.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to partner with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive, collaborative mindset with a passion for making a difference.

Must have Local Authority experience - ideally supporting Children's or Adults Services
