Strategic Transport Procurement Officer - Local Authority

Reed Public Sector is actively looking for a temp Procurement Officer to lead a Local Authority’s high-impact procurement projects in the Strategic Transport service area. This is a hybrid role with flexible working and the opportunity to shape the future of transport in Reading.

?? Location: Berkshire - Hybrid

?? Contract: up to 6 months

?? Hourly Rate: 38.66 per hour Umbrella

?? Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement for major transport initiatives (e.g., EV charging, bus services, active travel schemes).
• Ensure compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and Council policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver efficient, value-driven outcomes.
• Provide expert guidance and resolve complex procurement challenges.

? What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in public sector procurement, including high-value and concession contracts.
• Strong knowledge of UK procurement legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CIPS Level 4+ and Transforming Public Procurement e-learning certificate preferred.
