Street Scene Operatives

• Pay Rate: £12.58 per hour paye

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (2 months)

Doncaster Council are looking for nine dedicated Street Scene Operatives to join our team for a two-month period. This role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of streets and public areas throughout the borough, aligning with health and safety legislation. The positions are divided into two shifts, with six roles from Monday to Friday and three roles from Thursday to Sunday.

• Maintain streets and public areas according to their needs and designed maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring service standards are met for the benefit of Doncaster residents.
• Perform general duties outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake tasks appropriate to seasonal working arrangements and emergency call-outs.
• Serve as a point of contact for customer enquiries, ensuring good customer relationships and acting professionally as an ambassador for Doncaster Council.
• Undertake multi-skilled tasks across different service areas as required, helping to ensure a year-round service.
• Work safely using appropriate equipment, including mobile technology, and report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the line manager.
• Provide professional support within the team and share good practice.
• Participate in the Council's standby arrangements, including winter maintenance and 24/7 standby cover, and assist in emergency situations as part of the Emergency Planning Team.

• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to the role.
• Experience with a variety of horticultural and street cleansing equipment.
• Full driving licence.
• Proficiency in using IT systems.
• Experience in customer-facing service delivery.
• Willingness to undertake further training to enhance skills within the role.
