• Salary: £12.73 per hour
• Location: Rotherham
• Job Type: Temporary (6 weeks minimum)
• Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am - 3pm, Friday 7am - 2pm

Our client is urgently seeking two Streetscene Operatives to join their team on a six-week contract. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and environmental standards of our borough. The Streetscene Operative will perform a variety of tasks including bin emptying, litter picking, and sweeping. No DBS is required for this position.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Perform environmental maintenance tasks such as emptying bins, removing litter, controlling weeds, disposing of waste, and winter salting.
• Operate and maintain powered tools and equipment, ensuring they are secure and reporting any defects.
• Assist the public by providing directions and general assistance.
• Participate in the delivery of environmental campaigns, events, and initiatives.
• Supervise trainees, seasonal employees, or volunteers as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure all activities comply with council policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in environmental cleansing, horticultural, or grounds maintenance work.
• Proficient in the operation of powered tools and manual outdoor work.
• Understanding of health and safety, environmental issues.
• Effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Full driving licence is desirable.
