L3Harris’ Bristol location is the Headquarters for our Maritime UK business – a leading global supplier of integrated marine control systems and simulation products for warships, submarines and high-end commercial marine vessels worldwide. Since its inception, L3Harris has continuously iterated upon our Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) technology and successfully exported and delivered the system to over 300 vessels across 27 navies worldwide. We have additional Maritime UK sites in Burgess Hill, Barrow-In-Furness and Portchester. Together, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers.


The Subcontract Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing subcontractor relationships, leading negotiations of commercial terms and conditions, and ensuring effective execution of third-party deliveries. This role bridges Procurement, Legal, Operations, and Project Management to mitigate risk, optimize cost, and ensure on-time, compliant delivery of goods and services


Responsible for the procurement of subcontracts including the management of cost, schedule and performance parameters. Implement sourcing strategies, assess supplier risk (including financial) and develops mitigation plans.

What the role will involve


The responsibilities of your role will include the following:



  • Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services.

  • Prepares bid packages, conducts bidders' conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts.

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management and supply chain.

  • Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.

  • Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.

  • Travel expected UK 10% with occasional oversea travel. 


What you’ll bring


The role requires the following experience and skills:



  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and drafting of commercial terms and conditions.

  • Strong understanding of third-party logistics and delivery management.

  • Experience in industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, or large-scale project environments is preferred

  • CIPS Level 5 (desirable)
