Summer School Officer

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary. Hybrid working.

Location: Stratford

The London Legacy Development Corporation are seeking a Summer School Officer to support the planning and delivery of an inclusive two-week summer school programme for young people across East London. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, approachable, and enjoys working collaboratively to create positive and memorable experiences for participants.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Promote the summer school in schools and youth clubs, managing applications, and supporting families through the process.
• Coordinate the delivery of the programme, working closely with partners, tutors, and our wider team to ensure smooth operations in communications, logistics, evaluation, and event delivery.
• Assist the Community Engagement Manager with the delivery of the programme, ensuring it is inclusive and accessible.
• Manage the stakeholder database and outreach programme, engaging local organisations and schools through assemblies, workshops, and direct communications.
• Oversee the application process, providing support through workshops and direct assistance to ensure a smooth experience for applicants.
• Develop and manage a participant engagement and communications plan, ensuring all necessary information and consent forms are provided.
• Oversee the selection of participants in partnership with the Community Engagement Coordinator and manage communications with the selected cohort.
• Support the oversight of youth practitioners and logistical elements like meal coordination and photography during the summer school.
• Compile a comprehensive evaluation of the programme post-event.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, with experience delivering presentations such as school assemblies.
• Strong relationship-building skills and teamwork capabilities.
• Proven experience in stakeholder management and outreach.
• Highly organised with proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience managing data.
• Experience working with young people in schools, youth clubs, or community settings.
• Experience managing projects and events, with a good understanding of marketing and communications.
• Knowledge of East London and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is beneficial.
