Job Description - Supply Teaching Assistant - Leeds - September Start

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistants to join our expanding network of supply staff across Leeds. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Providing individual and small group support to pupils, assisting with learning activities.
  • Assisting with classroom organisation and preparation.
  • Contributing to a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Working effectively as part of a team, collaborating with teaching staff and support staff.
  • Communicating clearly with pupils, parents and carers, maintaining professional relationships.
  • Adhering to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding guidelines.


Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.


Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Knowledge of specific educational programs or initiatives used in primary schools (e.g., phonics schemes).
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3).
