Job Title: Kennel Assistant – Greyhound Racing

Reports To: Kennel Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Kennel Assistant to support the daily care and welfare of racing greyhounds. This role is essential to maintaining high standards of animal care, cleanliness, and readiness for training and race days.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the feeding, watering, and grooming of greyhounds.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, bedding, and surrounding areas to maintain hygiene.
• Exercise and walk dogs as directed by the trainer or kennel manager.
• Monitor the health and behaviour of greyhounds, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Help prepare dogs for races, including bathing, weighing, and transporting to the track.
• Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and exercise routines.
• Support with loading/unloading dogs for transport to and from race events.
• Follow all safety and welfare protocols to ensure the well-being of the animals.

Requirements:

• Genuine love for animals and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Previous experience working with dogs or in an animal care environment preferred.
• Physically fit and able to handle large, energetic dogs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and observation skills.
