Surfacing Supervisor

SF Recruitment have partnered with a brilliant organisation who have experienced huge growth over the last few years, who are based in Redditch and looking for a Surfacing/Construction Supervisor to join them on a long term basis.

Working pattern: full time - Redditch base - with travel to around the midlands, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire
Rate: £200-£250 per day

Responsibilities/experience required:

Supervise surfacing works on highways and/or TMC-related projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Manage site teams, subcontractors, and plant resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Interpret project specifications and drawings, ensuring quality standards are met across all activities.

Monitor and drive efficiency on site, understanding job breakdowns down to item level.

Assist with commercial planning and costing, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities.

Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders professionally and efficiently.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with NRSWA regulations and permit requirements.

Complete and maintain relevant documentation, including daily diaries, cost sheets, and progress reports.

Use computer systems and software to track progress, report issues, and support project planning.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

SSSTS or SMSTS certification.

Valid CSCS Card.

NRSWA (Street Works) Supervisor accreditation.

Demonstrable experience in costing, estimating, and commercial planning.

Strong computer literacy, with the ability to use project management and reporting tools.

Proven track record of supervising surfacing works, preferably on Highways or TMC frameworks.

Excellent understanding of job components, with a focus on driving productivity and reducing waste
