Job Title: Systems Engineer
Client: BAE Systems
Location: Broad Oak, (3-4 days per week onsite)
Contract: 12 months, 37 hours per week
Security Requirement: BPSS + SC
Rate: £50.79 PAYE or £68.55 Umbrella (INSIDE IR35)

Role Overview:

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the development of Mimesis, a simulation product that models maritime environments. Mimesis enables naval training, system integration, and platform testing to reduce operational risks. This role involves system design, integration, and testing, as well as developing software-intensive simulation and training systems for defence platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply Systems Engineering principles across the full lifecycle (requirements to system disposal).
Design and develop simulation systems using COTS and bespoke software.
Decompose system requirements and manage integration using tools such as IBM DOORS Next and CATIA Magic (Cameo).
Lead technical reviews, system verification, and ensure compliance with customer and business requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers for successful system integration.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in Systems Engineering and software integration lifecycle (ISO 15288/12207).
Proficient with tools like IBM DOORS Next, CATIA Magic, and JIRA.
Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, Python) is a plus.
Relevant STEM degree or equivalent experience.
