Tax Accountant 12-15 month fixed-term-contract

Robertson Bell is delighted to be partnering with a leading and well-respected housing association to recruit a Tax Accountant on a 12–15-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team at a pivotal moment, following the implementation of a new ERP system (Unit 4 Agresso).

• Deliver accurate and timely VAT returns and reconciliations.

• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and manage partial exemption calculations.

• Support the identification and resolution of manual processes, embedding improvements in the new ERP system.

• Handle ad hoc tax queries across VAT and potentially corporate tax.

• Collaborate with finance teams including group reporting, business partnering, AP, and AR.

• Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong double-entry knowledge.

• Experience: Significant VAT compliance experience, ideally including partial exemption. Strong background in preparing VAT returns and data analysis.

• Sector: Social housing, not-for-profit, or public sector preferred but not essential. Private sector candidates welcome if open to a learning curve.

• Systems: Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs) essential. Unit 4 Agresso experience highly desirable.

• Attributes: Team player, proactive, values-driven, and eager to contribute meaningfully.
