Teacher of Beauty and Barbering

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a skilled Beauty & Barbering Teacher to join a specialist school in Enfield. The role will be working Monday - Friday full-time, starting September 2025.

A highly regarded co-educational maintained secondary special school based in Enfield, North London. The school provides 120 places for students aged 11-19 who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Many students have experienced disrupted education and require a nurturing, structured environment to rebuild their confidence and develop practical life skills. The school has excellent vocational facilities including a fully equipped salon and barbering suite.

• Teaching KS4-5 students with SEMH needs in practical beauty therapy and barbering skills
• Planning and delivering engaging, hands-on lessons whilst monitoring student progress
• Supporting students to achieve industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds, VTCT)
• Working closely with support staff to implement individual behaviour support plans
• Creating a safe, therapeutic learning environment that builds student confidence
• Liaising with careers advisors to support students' progression into employment or further training
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety in the salon environment
• Contributing to students' personal development and wellbeing

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or willingness to work towards it
• Professional qualifications in Beauty Therapy and/or Barbering (NVQ Level 2/3 minimum)
• Experience teaching vocational subjects, preferably in a SEND or alternative provision setting
• Understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches
• Current industry experience and knowledge of salon standards
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
