We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Wakefield from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity to make a meaningful difference in Key Stage 3 and 4 classrooms, with the potential to also contribute to A-Level teaching.

Essential Requirements

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• A genuine passion for the English language and literature
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
• Prepare pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature exams
• Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs
• Foster a love of reading and writing in all students
• Use a range of formative and summative assessment strategies
• Promote literacy across the wider curriculum
• Use technology to enhance teaching and learning
• Uphold high expectations for student progress and conduct
• Develop schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum
• Maintain a positive, well-ordered classroom environment
