About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of French to join our secondary school in Leeds. Starting after Easter, this is a full-time position where you will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school prides itself on fostering a positive learning environment where both students and staff are encouraged to succeed.

The school is an all-through, inclusive, and diverse school in Leeds, catering to pupils from Reception to Year 11 (ages 2-19), with a focus on community building, personalised learning, and strong relationships between staff, students, and families. Ofsted has rated the school as 'Good'.

Position Details

  • Location: Leeds
  • Contract: Full-time role
  • Pay Rate: £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent communication
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills

  • Fluent in French with excellent pronunciation and grammatical knowledge.
  • Ability to inspire and engage learners.
  • Strong classroom management and discipline techniques.
  • Familiarity with GCSE French curriculum and assessments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective French lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess work in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Engage students with a range of cultural activities and real-world applications of language learning
  • Monitor and support students' progress and development.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the MFL department to plan and deliver cohesive schemes of work.
  • Encourage student participation in speaking, listening, reading, and writing tasks.
  • Undertake general cover responsibilities for other subjects post-Year 11 exams.
  • Support the pastoral needs of students within the school community.
  • Participate in school events, parent meetings, and professional development activities
