The Role

We are recruiting for a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of History to work full-time in a Leeds secondary school starting September 2025. You will be teaching KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of some KS5 lessons. The school is known for its commitment to academic excellence, inclusive ethos, and well-resourced departments. Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Sound knowledge of the National Curriculum for History (KS3-KS5)
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive History lessons across KS3-KS4 (and potentially KS5)
• Plan schemes of work aligned with national curriculum requirements
• Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessments
• Provide timely, detailed feedback to promote student improvement
• Maintain accurate records of student attainment and behaviour
• Participate in departmental planning and curriculum development
• Prepare students for GCSE History exams with appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with other Humanities staff to share best practices
• Encourage a passion for history beyond the classroom
