About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teacher of Humanities to join a highly inclusive and aspirational secondary school from September 2025, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will teach Humanities subjects (such as History, Geography, RE, and Citizenship) across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons that empower students to explore the world and their place in it.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and curriculum understanding.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, creative lessons across Humanities subjects.
  • Plan and prepare engaging, differentiated schemes of work.
  • Assess student progress in line with departmental and national standards.
  • Contribute to the development of a rich and diverse Humanities curriculum.
  • Foster a classroom culture of respect, inclusion, and enquiry.
  • Track and report on student performance effectively.
  • Attend parent's evenings and contribute to academic reviews.
  • Collaborate with the wider faculty to raise attainment.
  • Support student's academic and emotional development.
  • Organise extracurricular opportunities related to the Humanities subject.
  • Uphold school policies, values, and safeguarding procedures.
