About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Teacher of IT and Computing to join a thriving, innovative department in a high-achieving secondary school in Leeds. This full-time role starts in September 2025 and will involve teaching a mix of KS4 and KS5 students. Essential Requirements

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Strong subject knowledge of national curriculum, assessment, and computing pedagogy
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Skills

• Strong knowledge of programming languages
• Expertise in computer systems, networks, and cyber security
• Excellent verbal and written communication
  
• Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning
• Collaborative approach to working within a team
• Confidence using EdTech tools and virtual learning platforms

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver outstanding Computing and IT lessons across KS4 and KS5
• Prepare students for internal and external exams with structured support
• Create engaging learning resources using a variety of digital tools
• Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
• Deliver differentiated lessons to cater to a range of student abilities
• Monitor, track and report on student progress and attainment
• Contribute to curriculum development and resource sharing
• Promote digital literacy across the wider school community
• Deliver extra-curricular clubs such as coding, gaming or robotics
• Support the Head of Department in raising standards and innovation
