Hays education, are working with a good school in Huddersfield, where an exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Teacher of Performing Arts.

The successful candidate should be an inspirational teacher and a strong practitioner; a committed and motivated individual who can inspire others to raise aspirations, through offering an exciting and ambitious curriculum.
As a Teacher of Performing Arts, you will help to engage and enthuse learners of all abilities in this creative subject specialism through Drama, Music and Movement.
The school wants want all their students to enjoy a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum and for them to become confident, independent learners.
Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in music, & drama
  • Prepare students for the GCSE and (if applicable) A-Level examinations.
  • Lead and support extracurricular activities
  • Organise and direct school concerts, performances, and community events.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A degree in Music, Music Education, Drama or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching Music & drama at secondary level (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
