Location: Shepshed, Leicestershire (LE12)
Salary: £31,650 - £43,607 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, Term-time only
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term to permanent

Long Term Futures are seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join a specialist school in Leicestershire. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a supportive, high-staffing environment, delivering a curriculum adapted to the needs of children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). You'll work alongside skilled Teaching Assistants, therapists, and behaviour support staff.

The School:
The school provides a calm, consistent, and nurturing setting for children aged 4-16 who face barriers to learning due to SEMH needs. With small class sizes, a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and a strong therapeutic ethos, the team work collaboratively to design personalised learning pathways that address both academic and emotional development.

The Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Create a structured classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and leadership staff to maximise pupil progress
  • Implement trauma-informed and relational behaviour strategies
  • Track progress, adapt planning, and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE
  • Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or SEMH
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, therapeutic, and child-centred education

Why Apply Through Long Term Futures?

  • Long-term role with a clear pathway to permanency
  • Paid to scale from day one
  • Fast interview process - interviews taking place ASAP
  • Ongoing support throughout your placement
