Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Wavertree

Desian Education is partnering with a warm and inclusive primary school in Wavertree to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant. You’ll provide vital support to a Reception-aged pupil with Autism, helping them flourish in a nurturing classroom environment.

• Work one-to-one with a Reception pupil with Autism, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.

• Deliver structured interventions to support the child’s learning, communication, and social skills.

• Assist in creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

• Prepare resources and adapt activities to foster engagement and independence.

• Maintain a positive, safe, and stimulating learning atmosphere.

• Prior experience supporting children with Autism or in an SEN setting (preferred).

• Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to meeting individual needs.

• Strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.

• Passionate about early years education and inclusive practice.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable.
