Smart Education is currently recruiting committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join mainstream primary and secondary schools across Middlesbrough. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, and well-being across the curriculum.

Whether you're experienced in education or looking to transition into a school-based role from another support background, this Teaching Assistant role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to student success and personal growth.

• Providing classroom support to teachers and students, both one-to-one and in small groups

• Assisting pupils who may need extra help with learning or behaviour

• Preparing learning materials and maintaining a positive classroom environment

• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff to ensure inclusive education for all

• Previous experience working with children or young people (school, childcare, youth work, etc.)

• A patient, enthusiastic, and proactive attitude

• A valid Enhanced DBS (Child or Child & Adult Workforce) or willingness to apply

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification preferred (or a willingness to train)

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a tea
