Teaching Assistant

Primary Teaching Assistant - Year 6 required

Academics a leading teacher recruitment agency are seeking a committed Primary Teaching Assistant to help support friendly and welcoming primary school in Alsager from September 2025. This is a supply-based role providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 6 and delivering general intervention support across the year 6 class.

• Provide 1:1 academic and pastoral support to a Year 6 pupil with specific learning or emotional needs

• Assist with the planning and delivery of targeted intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy

• Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment

• Promote positive behaviour and build strong relationships with pupils and staff

• Previous experience supporting children in KS2, ideally with 1:1 or intervention experience

• A patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach

• A good understanding of the primary curriculum, particularly in Year 6

• A relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or above) is desirable

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Large base of primary schools to work in
