Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant required to support on a whole class and 1-2-1 basis at this Ofsted “Good” special school in central Birmingham. As a Teaching Assistant at this vibrant special school, you will be supporting children with Autism, MLD, Down Syndrome and complex needs on a 1-2-1 and small group basis. You will be supporting a class of no more than 7 children and will be working closely with an experienced team of teachers and teaching assistants. This is a long-term opportunity for a Level 2/3 qualified teaching assistant who is looking to make a difference.

Job Role:

• Supporting children with special educational needs including autism, MLD, complex needs and communication impairments.
• Collaborating with a team of teaching assistants to ensure that every child receives the right support.
• Planning and delivering small group activities / interventions.
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons hat meet the needs of pupils.
• Responsibility for classroom management and ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed.
