Job Description - Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Location: Westminster, Central London
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (with Potential for Permanent Role)
Pay: £90-£100 per day
Hours: 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday

A fantastic opportunity has opened for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in the heart of Westminster. Starting in September 2025, this is a full-time, long-term position running through to the end of the term, with strong potential to lead to a permanent role for the right candidate.

This is a brilliant chance for those passionate about education and looking to gain valuable school-based experience in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one-to-one and small group settings
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and classroom activities
  • Monitoring student progress and encouraging positive learning outcomes
  • Helping maintain a focused and inclusive learning environment

  • Someone passionate about education, with a strong sense of initiative
  • A team player who's eager to contribute to school life

About the School:

  • Located in Westminster with excellent transport links
  • Mixed secondary school for students aged 12-18
  • Strong leadership, outstanding behaviour, and a well-resourced SEN department
  • Weekly team meetings and continuous support from an experienced SENCo

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree (any subject)
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full CV covering the last 10 years of employment (where applicable)
  • Suitable reference checks
