Pay: £13.68 to £14.00 per hour

With the new academic year fast approaching, we're supporting a fantastic range of secondary schools across Southport who are on the lookout for dedicated Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join them in September!

Whether you're an experienced TA or someone with strong transferable skills looking to get into education, this is a brilliant opportunity to take your next step.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key part in the classroom by supporting both the teacher and students. You'll help students stay engaged, assist with classroom tasks, and provide individual or small group interventions, especially for pupils needing extra help.

• Provide targeted support to students across KS3 and KS4, both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support students with additional learning needs.
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Encourage student participation and boost confidence and engagement.
• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support students during exams, assessments, and independent tasks.
• Supervise break and lunch duties where needed.
• Prepare and maintain classroom resources and learning materials.

• Experience working with secondary-aged children (either in school or youth/community settings).
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one).
• A proactive, caring, and patient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
