Teaching Assistant - Secondary PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)

Location: Oldham
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)

Hays Education is working on behalf of a well-established Pupil Referral Unit in Oldham to recruit a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant. Your New Role

• Support students aged 11-16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.
• Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support and interventions.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Experience working with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs or challenging behaviour.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
