Teaching Assistant, Llantwit

Academics is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Llantwit Major to recruit a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant. This full-time temporary role starts in September 2025 and offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils in general classroom settings as well as through targeted one-to-one and small group work, including support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom learning across a range of year groups

• Provide one-to-one support for pupils with ALN

• Deliver small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills

• Assist with classroom routines, resource preparation, and behaviour management

• Collaborate with teachers, ALN coordinators, and support staff to meet pupil needs

• Promote an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 preferred)

• Experience working with children in a primary school setting

• Minimum of two years' experience supporting pupils with ALN

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Academics)

• Two recent professional references

• Positive, patient, and proactive attitude to supporting learning
