Teaching Assistant - Supply - Leeds

Randstad Education is searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistant with a passion for phonics to support primary schools across Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in developing early reading skills. As a supply TA, you will have the flexibility to work in a variety of school environments, bringing your specialist phonics knowledge to the classrooms that need it most. We are looking for TAs with experience delivering structured phonics sessions using popular packages.

What you will be doing:

• Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons.

• Creating a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages a love of reading.

• Helping children to decode words, build fluency, and develop their comprehension skills.

• Assisting with classroom management and supporting pupils with their wider learning activities.

• Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress in phonics.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.

• Demonstrable experience and strong knowledge of one or more phonics programmes.

• A genuine passion for helping children to achieve their full potential in literacy.

• The ability to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff.

• Excellent communication skills, patience, and a creative approach.

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are highly desirable.
