Job Description - Team Manager Childrens




3 months contract with a Local Authority



Job Summary:



• This is a pivotal management role responsible for leading and supporting a team of social care professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred services to children, adults, and families.



• The Team Manager will ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the service, promoting collaborative, multi-agency working, continuous improvement, and safeguarding best practices.



• This role plays a key part in system leadership, service transformation, and the development of self-directed teams.







Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):



• Lead and manage a team of qualified social workers and other professionals across adult or children's services.



• Ensure high-quality case management, compliance with statutory duties, and performance against key service standards.



• Monitor caseloads, workflow, and service demand, ensuring effective use of resources.



• Provide supervision, support and development opportunities for staff.



• Lead on safeguarding matters and act as Safeguarding Adult Manager or Duty Manager as required.



• Contribute to strategic development and continuous service improvement by identifying and acting on systemic issues.



• Represent the service on funding panels and multi-agency forums.



• Work collaboratively across services to maintain a whole-system, locality-based approach.



• Promote a learning culture, championing best practice, inclusion, and co-production with service users.







Skills/Experience:



• Proven leadership experience in a statutory social care setting (Adults or Children’s services).



• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Care Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act).



• Experience managing safeguarding concerns and risk management.



• Able to analyse performance data and drive service improvement.



• Experience of multi-agency working and integrated service delivery.



• Demonstrable ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships.



• Ability to support professional development and manage change effectively.



• Excellent communication, supervision, and organisational skills.



• Understanding of systemic challenges, deprivation, and family/community resilience.







Additional Information:



• The closing date: 01/09/2025 @13:00.



• Qualified and registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist (HCPC or equivalent).



• Enhanced DBS required.
