Job Description - Team Manager Finance Operations

Finance Accounts Payable Team Leader - FTC 12 mths

Leicester Based

£Excellent salary

Reed, Accountancy and Finance, are seeking a skilled and proactive individual to support our clients strategic and operational development of the finance function. This role involves working closely with senior management to ensure compliance, drive performance, and lead a high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Finance Manager in monitoring, reviewing, and enhancing the finance function, including performance management, forward planning, and change implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring policies are reviewed and updated accordingly.
  • Lead and manage the finance team(s) to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused, cost-effective service that:
    • Ensures robust and timely payment validation processes in line with statutory and contractual obligations.
    • Supports strategic objectives.
    • Complies with Standard Financial Instructions and internal frameworks.
    • Resolves complex queries related to payment validation, financial data, and business systems.
    • Integrates performance monitoring to prioritise tasks and improve service delivery.
    • Builds and maintains effective partnerships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership to ensure strong internal controls over financial data, data quality, and performance, contributing to the development of system improvements and value-added processes.
  • Support the finance team with financial procedures, including timely processing of invoice validation, income collection, and payment workflows.
  • Ensure all financial data and information meet the service’s quality and compliance standards.
To apply for the role, you will be required to have the following experience:
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, internal controls, and public sector finance (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in financial systems and data management tools.
