Lorien's leading Investment Client is looking for a Technical Business Analyst to join the expanding team on a brand-new project.

This role is based in Edinburgh.

This role will be Via Umbrella.

Working in a Hybrid Model of 1 day a week on site.

Key Skills and Experience

• Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills, with experience resolving complex system issues
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green belt and above) skillset is advantageous
  • Knowledge of mainframe technologies (COBOL is advantageous)
• Experience in defect and issue management using tooling aligned to Microsoft (primarily Excel)
• Solid understanding of business processes supported by legacy systems
• Ability to translate technical issues into business-friendly language and communicate insights clearly
• High attention to detail when reviewing logs, code artifacts, and documentation
• Collaborative working style with strong cross-functional team engagement
• Exposure to structured methodologies such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments
• Proactivity and enabling collaboration between stakeholders is essential
• 7+ years in business or systems analysis roles, preferably in legacy environments and architectures
