Temp Regional Project Engineering Manager

Location: National (travel required, regular visits to Oxfordshire HQ)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Days (flexible when required)

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and people-focused Regional Projects Manager to lead and inspire a team of 10 Project Managers/Engineers. This role is centred on man-management and leadership, not direct project delivery. You will ensure your team are organised, supported, and delivering projects on time, within agreed SLAs.

You will also act as the key customer interface, balancing client expectations with project feasibility. A strong and diplomatic approach is essential – you’ll need to manage requests for changes, clearly communicating impacts on timelines and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor a team of 10 Project Managers/Engineers

• Drive organisation, motivation, and accountability across the team

• Ensure projects are delivered effectively and within agreed timescales

• Act as the main escalation point for customers, handling requests, add-ons, and changes

• Challenge unrealistic expectations diplomatically while maintaining strong client relationships

• Provide clear communication between customers and project delivery teams

• Report on progress, risks, and performance to senior management

What We’re Looking For

• Proven man-management and leadership experience – supportive, motivational style

• Strong background in project management, ideally with regional/multi-site exposure

• Excellent client-facing skills – able to manage expectations and negotiate effectively

• Confident decision-maker, able to balance commercial and operational needs

• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, automation, logistics, or related sectors is desirable

• Flexible and able to travel as required (HQ visits once a week/fortnight)
