Job Description - Temporary Accommodation Administrator - hybrid/remote working

Are you looking for an immediate temporary position? Do you have some prior experience working in hotel reservations, as a travel agent or student accommodation?

An international education provider is looking for an Accommodation Administrator to join their team for approximately 3 months. This is a full time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. They are based in Central London, 4 days working remotely, 1 in the office. If you live outside of London they will also consider fully remote working for the right candidate.

This role involves assisting students with all aspects of their accommodation booking. You will be processing accommodation bookings and dealing with student enquiries to assist with their accommodation.

Key responsibilities:

  • To actively monitor and administer the accommodation email account. To receive and positively respond to all accommodation queries by e-mail or phone and proactively provide accurate accommodation information (room allocation process, cancellation policy, payments due etc.)
  • Allocate rooms as per guidelines within the Central Accommodation processes. These guidelines will take into consideration admissions criteria, UK legislation, customer preference and the commercial requirements of the company.
  • Accurately maintain the accommodation database/information and prepare daily reports to include portal reports, occupancy levels etc.
  • To monitor overall accommodation portal performance and liaise with Accommodation Manager to resolve any issues, ensuring a smooth consistent service.
  • Ensure all complaints are managed and responded to in a sensitive, empathic, and supportive manner.
  • In liaison with the Accommodation Manager and Senior Accommodation Officer, take responsibility for the development and maintenance of efficient Accommodation Team operating processes and procedures. Act as a responsible team member, leading where agreed, and develop productive working relationships with other members of staff.

Skills required:

  • Previous experience in student accommodation support or hotel reservations is ideal.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel; experience of using StarRez would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated accurate and efficient administrative and organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • High-level communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills within a culturally diverse education community or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks, meet deadlines and work under pressure as well as contribute and work within a team and independently.
