Are you an experienced housing professional with a passion for leading teams and delivering positive outcomes for homeless households?

The Royal Borough of Kingston is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Team Manager to join the Housing Solutions service for an initial 3+ month contract. In this vital role, you will lead the operational delivery and management of hostels and dispersed temporary accommodation, ensuring high standards of housing quality, safety, and resident support.

• Lead and manage a team of Temporary Accommodation Officers

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of temporary accommodation across spot-purchased, leased, and hostel settings

• Ensure all accommodation meets health & safety standards and statutory requirements

• Build and manage effective relationships with private landlords, managing agents, and other stakeholders

• Support service transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

• Monitor performance, manage voids, and minimise rent loss

• Deputise for the Accommodation Services Lead when required

• Proven experience managing temporary accommodation or housing services within a local authority or similar setting

• Strong leadership, performance management, and team development skills

• In-depth knowledge of relevant housing legislation, homelessness law, and safeguarding

• Ability to deal with complex cases and complaints effectively

• Strong partnership and stakeholder engagement skills

• Location: Kingston (hybrid options may be considered)

• Rate: £32 per hour (paid via umbrella company)

• Duration: Initial 3 months, with potential to extend

• Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
