Job Description - Temporary Accommodation Officer

3-month contract position with a local authority

Summary

This is a 3-month contract position with a local authority, reporting to the Senior Temporary Accommodation Officer. The role involves managing Temporary Accommodation, including Council, Registered Providers, Private Sector Leased, and Emergency Overnight Accommodation. The position is crucial for ensuring that temporary housing is maintained to high standards and that residents receive the necessary support and guidance.

Responsibilities

Identify and report repairs within Temporary Accommodation units to Property Services staff and other landlords.

Visit households assisted with temporary or other housing options, advising on payment of charges, tenure conditions, utilities, and repairs.

Conduct regular visits to all temporary accommodation units to ensure proper occupancy and maintenance.

Arrange for the termination or withdrawal of placements as needed.

Identify service users with support needs and refer them to appropriate services.

Qualifications

Educational qualification in a related field is desirable.

Additional Information

Working hours: 35 hours per week.

Experience in addressing issues such as non-occupation, repairs, sublets, and property concerns.

The role requires a DBS check.

Must be available to work a minimum of 35 hours per week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed.
