Job Title – Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer
Location – Greenwich, London
Contract – Temporary (Ongoing)
Hours – Full-time, 36 hours per week
Salary – £18.27 PAYE / £22.76 LTD per hour
Role summary –
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Placement Officer to join an Allocations and Temporary Accommodation Service. This is a key role supporting vulnerable individuals and families by securing emergency accommodation and providing essential housing services.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice and information on temporary accommodation services to customers via phone, email, and in person
• Sign up applicants and allocate emergency properties based on risk and legislation
• Liaise with landlords and negotiate nightly rates outside of the Pan London Rate
• Ensure health & safety compliance and valid certification for properties
• Handle rent accounting tasks including setting up accounts and taking payments
• Process invoices and monitor expenditure, identifying any discrepancies
• Manage correspondence, arrange meetings, and maintain accurate electronic records
• Support service delivery through data entry, minute taking, document management, and more
• Be aware of safeguarding procedures and legislative changes impacting housing

Requirements:

• Previous experience in housing, homelessness, or temporary accommodation services
• Strong administrative skills and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Confidence using IT systems and managing data accurately
• Flexibility to work late hours when needed
• Knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices
