Job Description - Temporary Accountant

?? Temporary Accountant – 3–4 Month Contract
?? Location: South Tyneside
?? Sector: Manufacturing / SME
?? Duration: 3 to 4 months
?? Rate: £ Negotiable per day
?? Start Date: ASAP

Are you an experienced, hands-on accountant available immediately or at short notice? We're looking for a confident and capable interim Accountant to support a finance team in South Tyneside during a period of transition and reporting pressure.
?? About the Role

This is a key support role during a busy period, covering a range of accounting responsibilities. You’ll be working closely with the Finance Manager, providing accurate and timely financial insight.

Duties include:

Assisting with month-end close and reconciliations
Producing management accounts and supporting analysis
Assisting with VAT returns, journals, prepayments/accruals
Reviewing and reconciling balance sheet items
Ad hoc finance projects and process clean-up tasks

? About You

Part-Qualified / Qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or QBE)
Confident with Excel and mainstream accounting packages (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP)
Proven experience in a hands-on accounting role
Able to hit the ground running with minimal hand-holding
Available now
Flexible and adaptable approach, especially in SME or fast-paced environments
