Job Description - Temporary Accounts Assistant

JOB TITLE: Temporary Accounts Assistant

LOCATION: Outskirts of Wellington, Somerset. Due to location, you must have your own transport.

HOURLY RATE: Up to £13 P/H (Dependant on experience)

HOURS: Full-time, initially for 4 weeks with potential extension to 6 or 8 weeks

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our client's team on the outskirts of Wellington, Somerset. This is a temporary position, initially for 4 weeks with the possibility of extension. You will be joining a friendly and supportive team, who thrive in working in an open plan office space.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Entering Sales Orders onto Sage 200: Accurately input sales orders into the Sage 200 accounting system, ensuring all details are correct and up-to-date.
  • Entering Purchase Invoices onto Sage 200: Process and record purchase invoices in Sage 200, verifying the accuracy of invoice details and ensuring timely entry.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
  • Phoning Customers to Chase Payment of Overdue Invoices: Contact customers via phone to follow up on overdue invoices, maintaining a professional and courteous manner to ensure prompt payment.
  • Sending Copy Invoices: Send copy invoices to customers as needed, ensuring that all communications are clear and accurate.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Confident using Excel and email
  • Some basic accounts experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 or similar accounting software is a plus
