Temporary Internal Communications Executive - Charity Sector

My client, a respected national charity, is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Executive to join their team on a 3-month temporary contract. This is a hybrid role with flexible home-based working

You'll be supporting the delivery of high-quality internal communications and engagement during a particularly busy and exciting time for the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident communicator to make an immediate impact in a values-led environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Write and edit engaging content for a range of internal channels, including intranet, email updates, staff blogs, and live virtual events
2. Manage and respond to routine queries in the Internal Communications mailbox
3. Update and maintain the intranet (SharePoint), including uploading documents, editing content, and publishing news articles
4. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to support shared communications goals
5. Help facilitate internal events using Microsoft Teams
6. Support the team with planning, admin, and editorial tasks-such as updating content calendars and tracking performance metrics
7. Contribute to the delivery of internal communications and engagement projects

Skills & Experience Required:

1. Recent experience in an internal communications role
2. Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with a strong understanding of audience tone and messaging
3. Working knowledge of internal comms channels, particularly Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint)
4. Experience sourcing imagery and applying brand guidelines to content
5. Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
6. Experience with SharePoint site content management is essential
7. Basic video editing skills (ClipChamp / Stream) desirable but not essential
