Temporary Payroll Officer

Grafton Banks Finance are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established organisation on a temporary basis. This is a standalone role, initially for 6 weeks to provide cover, with the potential to be extended. The position offers a hybrid working pattern, with 1–2 days per week required in the office.

Reporting to the Finance team, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls across various business divisions. You’ll work closely with HR to manage changes to employee data and ensure all payroll and pension obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process end-to-end monthly payrolls for multiple business units
• Ensure accurate input of starters, leavers, and contractual changes
• Manage payroll queries and maintain up-to-date employee records
• Submit pension contributions and manage updates to employee pension details
• Prepare payroll-related reports and support with audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including PAYE, NI, and year-end submissions
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate record-keeping at all times

About You:

• Proven experience in processing payroll independently
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of payroll legislation
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Available at short notice
• Able to commit to hybrid working (1–2 days in office)
