Temporary VAT Accountant

Our client is seeking a Temporary VAT Accountant to provide widespread support to their team! This organisation serves as a guiding light in education, aiming to create a flourishing community. This role will require travel between multiple locations with expenses covered, ensuring an exciting day of work!

Hours: 9am- 5pm

Hybrid: 1-2 WFH Days

Duration: 1-1.5 months

£25-£27 per hour plus holiday pay accrual

Travel Between Locations when required: Hackney and Tower Hamlet Locations (expenses paid)

Main Role:

• Manage the preparation and completion of VAT declarations at a high rate. Including data collection, submissions and uploading/ filing in relevant locations.
• Maintain accuracy on VAT accounts and ensuring recorded data is reconciled with new information.
• Assist in providing necessary support documentation for VAT reporting, request VAT invoice revision and VAT invoice credits when required.
• Complete all VAT related accounting including computations and compliance.
• Perform VAT account reconciliation and analysis to provide accurate accounts.
• Calculate the UK Group VAT liability in accordance with legal requirements and produce the UK VAT Return for submission to HMRC.

Key Experience:

• Experience with VAT126 submissions and providing compliance checks on VAT126 returns before processing them with HMRC.
• Valid Enhanced DBS would be a bonus.
