Role would suit somebody with experience of working within a Test Technician, Workshop Technician, Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Build or similar engineering role. We are looking for a Test Technician / Workshop Technician to work at the cutting edge of automotive electrification testing. The role supports the delivery of automotive engineering test programmes, through the preparation, set-up and operation of test facilities, equipment and instrumentation within a busy, multi-disciplinary test environment. Your background as a Test Technician: Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline Previous experience working in a test, workshop or mechanical build environment. Confident user of hand tools and basic measurement equipment. You will have a general hands-on mechanical / electrical aptitude, careful working style, and a strong safety mindset. Be able to use Microsoft Office IT systems competently. A full UK Driving licence is required. Test Technician Responsibilities: You will work as part of a wider engineering team, contributing to mechanical build activities, test rig and fixture preparation, and the safe execution of environmental test programmes. Support the set-up, execution and clear-down of engineering tests. Prepare test facilities, rigs, jigs and fixtures in line with customer and safety requirements. Support mechanical build and assembly activities using hand and machine tools. Support ongoing facility and equipment maintenance activities. Assist with test data handling and basic documentation. This Test Technician role is commutable from Basildon, Wickford, Rayleigh, Billericay, Laindon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Upminster, Southend, and surrounding areas.
