Training Content Developer
  • Contract Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Bedford (predominantly remote working)
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Daily Rate: £450 (inside IR35)

We are seeking a Training Content Developer to join our team at an Arms-Length organisation sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions. This role is crucial in developing training and learning programmes to enhance financial decision-making capabilities across the UK.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design and structure pedagogically sound training/learning programmes across digital and blended formats, including modules, courses, assessments, workshops, animated videos, and other resources.
  • Lead the content planning and instructional approach for each training solution, from microlearning to in-depth courses.
  • Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and digital content producers to create storyboards, scripts, and prototypes for learning content.
  • Translate content into visually appealing, engaging learning experiences.
  • Liaise with SMEs to ensure training content is technically accurate and reflective of real-world contexts.
  • Manage the end-to-end content creation process, involving internal and external stakeholders to draft and review content, and manage external digital content production suppliers/vendors.
  • Ensure compatibility of course materials with learning platform systems and assure content quality for a smooth transition from design to delivery.
  • Align internal and external project plans to ensure timely delivery of training/learning programmes and resources.
  • Gather learner feedback, evaluate the effectiveness of training modules, and recommend and implement improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing the authoring of bespoke training/learning materials in various formats.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, skills development, and inclusive learning practices.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, working with SMEs and external vendors/suppliers.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple content streams to meet milestones and deadlines.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and digital learning formats including SCORM eLearning standard and instructional design tools.
  • Desirable: Understanding of non-regulated money guidance and experience working with frontline practitioners in various sectors.
