Job Description - Transport Manager

Transport Manager – Hybrid | £40,000–£45,000 + Benefits

Location: Oxford - Hybrid (UK-wide travel required – up to 50%)
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client is a leading supplier of innovative ground access solutions across the rail, construction, and utility sectors. They provide year-round, all-weather site access with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. They are currently seeking a Transport & Plant Manager to join their dynamic operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage our UK fleet of commercial vehicles, plant, and drivers.
Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance (Operator’s Licence, DVSA, tacho systems, etc).
Oversee procurement, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles and equipment.
Monitor cost effectiveness, safety, and performance (incl. telematics, utilisation, energy consumption).
Support Health & Safety initiatives and help standardise operations across the group.

You’ll Need:

4+ years’ experience as a Transport Manager (construction industry preferred)
CPC qualification (essential)
Full UK Drivers licence
Strong IT skills – MS Excel, Word, routing & tacho systems
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
