Transport Officer

• Contract Duration: Approximately 2 months

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary £14.37 an hour
• Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking a Transport Operations Assistant to cover a long-term absence. This role is crucial for delivering Personal Transport Budgets in preparation for the new academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up contracts within our software package, ensuring the assessment and delivery of safe, effective, efficient, and legally compliant passenger transport services, particularly for service users with disabilities.

• Reconcile and process Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEN) Personal Transport Budget (PTB) Payments.
• Set up contracts and carry out deduction calculations for SEN Personal Transport Budgets.
• Check and electronically authorise SEN PTB Payments, overseeing the Transport Operations Service’s usage of the PTB online payment system.
• Liaise with ICT Services on technical matters and with service users.
• Collate attendance records, check and amend SEN PTB Payments as necessary, and inform parents/carers of such changes.
• Resolve complex, high-profile, or difficult customer PTB payment queries.
• Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service.
• Ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly learn new software.
• Strong data entry/processing skills.
• Good arithmetic skills for error checking.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in administrative roles or similar settings is preferred.

• Hybrid working model (ability to work from home following initial training period).
