Transport (Traffic) Planner |Near Cranbrook | Circa £40,000 | Maternity cover

This well established family business provides haulage services to the construction, landscaping and agricultural sectors. They are looking for a Transport or Traffic Planner to join the team on a full-time basis, initally in a maternity cover contract but with the potential to be permanent.

You’ll report into the Transport Manager in a challenging but rewarding role which will suit an individual with drive, determination, and enthusiasm. You’ll ensure the continued delivery of a timely and accurate service to all customers. Planning and coordinating the day to day running of their haulage fleet vehicles whilst adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of an optimum Transport plan in a time critical environment, constantly review and maintain in line with operational changes.
• Ensure all jobs are entered on to the Transport Management System correctly, providing accurate routing information to ensure delivery times are met.
• Pursue and generate backloads where required.
• Negotiating with subcontractors.
• Assist in the production of reports for Senior Management to support KPI’s.
• Maximise efficiencies whilst reducing costs.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner in a busy haulage environment.
• Confident communicator and good organizer.
• A strong knowledge of the principles of transport operations and planning functions.
• Computer literate.
